The 2nd edition of Hero Indian Super League kicked off on 3rd October 2015 in Chennai with the opening match between Chennaiyin FC (co-owned by Abhishek Bachchan) and Altetico De Kolkata (co-owned by Sourav Ganguly). The grand opening ceremony this year was managed by Showtime Group. Showtime had deployed a team of 100 'showtimers' to manage the star studded event that featured live performances by Alia Bhatt, Aishwarya Rai, AR Rehman, and Arjun Kapoor amidst several south based film personalities and Bollywood celebs who were present to witness the show.
