Diljit Dosanjh Pays Tribute To Late PM Manmohan Singh At Guwahati Concert; Heads To Ludhiana

As part of his Dil-Luminati Tour 2024, Dosanjh recited Singh’s shayari in the former PM’s remembrance at Guwahati on 29 December, 2024 – he wraps up the tour in Ludhiana on 31 December, 2024

As part of his Dil-Luminati Tour 2024, Punjabi singing sensation Diljit Dosanjh took the stage at the Sarusajai Sports Complex in Guwahati on 29 December, 2024. He dedicated the performance to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away on 26 December, 2024. In a heartfelt Instagram video, Dosanjh paid tribute to the late leader, describing him as a man of grace and recalling one of Singh’s most iconic poetic statements.

During the concert, Dosanjh mentioned, “Today’s concert is dedicated to former late Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He led a very simple life. He never used to answer back or talk ill which is quite impossible in a profession like politics.” He then went on to recite a shayari that was once used by Singh - ‘Hazaron jawabo se meri khamoshi acchi, na jaane kitne sawaalo ki aabru dhak leti hai’. He emphasised that this is a lesson the youth, himself included, should embrace.

“Humein koi kitna bhi bura bole, bhatkaane ki koshish kare, aapka lakshya clear hona chahiye. Aap focused hone chahiye aapke kaam ko leke. Kyunki jo aapko bura bol raha hai, who bhi bhagwaan ka roop hain, sirf aapka test ho raha hai ki aap uske reaction kaise karte hain. (No matter what someone says, your focus should solely be on your goal. Because the one who is speaking badly to you is also a form of God, and it’s a test to see how you react to it)," Dosanjh outlined.

He pointed out that Singh was the first Sikh who had his signature imprinted on the Indian currency. Sharing the video of his tribute to the former PM, Dosanjh wrote, “Today’s concert is dedicated to Dr Manmohan Singh Ji Dil-Luminati Tour Year 24."

Reacting to Dosanjh’s video, one fan wrote, “Ek hi dil hai, paaji, kitni baar jeetoge? Pyaar hi pyaar, respect hi respect!" Another fan, referring to Dosanjh’s feud with Punjabi singer, AP Dhillon, commented, “Indirect answer to AP Dhillon.”

Dosanjh is set to conclude the India leg of his Dil-Luminati Tour in Ludhiana on 31 December, 2024. The tour kicked off in Delhi in October this year, followed by electrifying performances in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Indore, Chandigarh, and Mumbai. Meanwhile, Dosanjh has already begun shooting for his next project, Anurag Singh’s directorial Border 2.
