Mumbai, May 28, 2017 – The Grand Finale of the Bayer National Scrabble Championship 2017 held in association with The Mumbai Scrabble Club and Scrabble Association of India, took place at The Regenza at Navi Mumbai. Scrabble lovers from across the country battled it out for the winning spot at this esteemed championship event.
Sherwin Rodrigues from Mumbai won the Bayer National Scrabble championship 2017 followed by Goutham Jayaraman from Singapore and Mohan Chunkath from Chennai in the second and third place respectively. The winners of the Bayer National Scrabble Championship will represent India at the World Scrabble Championship which will be held in Nairobi, Kenya in November 2017.

The championship saw a great turnout of Scrabble enthusiasts from all over India. Professionals from all walks of life, like Doctor’s, Chartered Accountants, Lawyers, Students etc all came together to fight it out for the title . The competition saw 24 rounds in all. The first half of the rounds were in the Australian Draw format and the second half in the King of the Hill format. The tournament was held in Mumbai from May 26 - May 28, 2017.
