Kokuya Camlin engages students on World Art Day at Kodaikanal International School in Tamil Nadu

While The International Artists’ Association first celebrated World Art Day in 2012, Kokuyo Camlin took the lead and brought the concept to India with a tram painting activity in Kolkata in 2014.

The theme of the activity held this year at the Kodaikanal International School was ‘Visions for the World’ wherein students were given to paint on various topics like travel, communication, education etc. Kokuyo Camlin provided all the art material for painting and also felicitated the participants, educators and artists. The students happily unleashed their creative potential and  churned out some really beautiful paintings as per the theme.

Saumitra Prasad, Chief Marketing Officer, Kokuyo Camlin said, “We started celebrating World Art Day in India four years back in order to promote art in India. Every year we celebrate it in different parts of the country in a very unique way. This year we joined hands with the famous international school – Kodaikanal International, and we were so glad that school children from so many countries could participate in the activity. We also received good support on social media as well”

In the year 2015, Kokuyo Camlin celebrated World Art Day by organizing the World’s Longest Canvas in Mumbai. This was followed by  ‘Camlin Draws for Drought’ in 2016 in Mumbai where  more than 60 professional artists were roped in  to create ‘Art for Cause’, which were later donated to an NGO which works with farmer widows of  Viderbha. In 2017, World Art Day was celebrated at Welham Boys School, Dehradun, where 27 schools got together for painting collaborative canvases.
