The Return Of Live Events In 2022 Marks A Milestone Year For Paytm Insider

As on ground events made it’s comeback, India’s leading lifestyle and entertainment platform Paytm Insider curated over 16.5K live experiences selling over 6Mn tickets across the country.

Having hosted live experiences across over 160 cities in the year 2022, overall transactions from key cities - Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa and Pune and other main cities grew by over 30% compared to pre-covid times but overall transactions across other cities grew by 132 per cent compared to the previous year.

Paytm Insider brought over 80 events across various IPs to fans in 2022, ranging from brand-led festivals to music, theatre, comedy and even FnB festivals. Across the holiday season too, the platform listed over 1000 NYE experiences that audiences could choose from to celebrate the last weekend of the year 2022.

With music concerts stealing the show, artists like Lucky Ali, Arijit Singh, Peter Cat Recording Co, DIVINE to name a few, won over millions of fans across the country.

I-rock made a comeback after 9 years with about 8000 rock fans attending on both days and saw the return of some iconic bands like Pentagram & Zero.

India’s popular gully boy Divine launched his most iconic and ambitious tour yet alongside his new album Gunehgar that premiered in Mumbai and went on to Pune and even Ahmedabad, entertaining over 20,000 fans. Many more cities will witness the magic of his words this year.

Arijit Singh’s One Night Only tour saw almost   20K tickets being sold across Mumbai and Hyderabad. With three more editions left, including Kolkata, Bengaluru and even Delhi, it's  safe to say that this number should collectively reach approximately 50K.

Talking about cities, Hyderabad emerged as the city with the most sports enthusiastic people gathering to watch various tournaments. And with the upcoming season of tournaments like IPL and ISL, we are expected to see this number grow.

Bengaluru emerged as the city which attended the most number of gigs, with almost a million people showing up for different events.

And that’s not it! With over 200K tickets sold for comedy gigs, Kolkata had the most number of fans who laughed along to the taste of the best medicine ever.

When it comes to talking about taste, it’s none other than Delhi that spent the most on F&B in 2022.

Varun Khare,Business Head, Paytm Insider said “ Over the last year we’ve seen the creator economy grow exponentially. Events listed saw a steady growth last year along with an increased demand across fans enthusiastic to attend live experiences once again. The average ticket size per transaction ranged between 3 and 4 as audiences looked forward to connecting with friends and loved ones at food & beverage/lifestyle festivals and experiences. Live events offer an unparalleled experience and although the live event industry will see extreme digitisation over the next few years with the introduction of AR and VR, the core feeling of attending a live event and connecting with artists and fans in person will co-exist.”

Post the pandemic brands and corporates are keen on partnering with creators and event organisers to build, sustain and grow communities. Last year Paytm Insider collaborated with over 42 brands across different events. This is likely to continue this year bringing audiences unique and valuable experiences.
