Amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, Tech Mahindra Foundation, on Tuesday, under its COVID-19 relief initiative, donated two ambulances, one to St. Philomena’s hospital and another to Sri Krishna Sevashrama Hospital, Bengaluru.
Apart from the ambulances, an oxygen generator plant at St. Philomena’s hospital was also donated by the foundation. The plant was inaugurated by Randeep D, Special Commissioner Health and IT, BBMP in the presence of a few others from prominent persons from Tech Mahindra.
Randeep D, Special Commissioner, BBMP, said that Bengaluru had faced a hard time during the COVID-19, and ambulances and oxygen cylinders are major requirements. This donation of ambulances is going to give benefits to the Bengaluru people and with this, we will strive to make Bengaluru a safer city in the upcoming days.
Meanwhile, Syed Ateeq, Corporate Services, Tech Mahindra said, “The coronavirus pandemic has affected everybody on a scale that was never imagined, and in India during the second wave, a massive shortage of oxygen was witnessed. Keeping all that in mind and to prevent such a situation from happening in the future, the decision of donating the oxygen plants and ambulances was made by the Mahindra and Tech Mahindra group. We hope that no one in the near future has to struggle as the patients did in the second wave.”
