Sunburn 2017 to pitch camp at Oxford Golf Resort in Lavale Pune

To ensure all attendees have the ultimate Sunburn experience, there is a clear requirement of over 100 acres of land, (ie 400,000 sq meters) amidst nature with infrastructure and set in the right socio economic environment. 

Keeping the same in mind, Pimpri Chinchwad (Kesnand) played host to Sunburn in 2016, the festival's first year in Pune after moving out from Goa. The same venue was finalised for this years edition too but was dropped due to opposition from local villagers and residents who claimed that the event promotes obscenity. 

Mahalaxmi lawns was hence considered as a potential venue for the festival and though it was a good location including large space, good access, and infrastructure however it didn't score high on character. The venue was booked and permissions were applied for but were denied citing objections from Airport Authorities, CRPF and the Airforce and were advised to look on the other side of town, especially given the congestion on the Nagar highway, which was indeed correct. 

The search for the final venue also included Balewadi, Hinjewadi, Dehuroad till finally Oxford Golf Resort was confirmed.

The new sunburn venue spread across over 100 acres of land and covered by the abundant greenery and stunning views of the hills on all sides, the venue is the perfect destination to give fans the perfect Sunburn experience. This is located on top of the hill at the very entry to the 1200 acre Oxford Gold course which is rated amongst the best in Asia.

Located at Lavale, the venue is linked through the bypass-highway and has a convenient approach from Mumbai & Pune City. It is approximately 25 kilometers from the Pune Airport and just 9 kilometers from the University Circle (Pune City Centre), and just about 2 and half hour drive from Mumbai easily accessible for the fans, away but close to the city giving fans a destination festival vibe.

Work for the final festival is on overtime to make the experience flawless. 

A parking infrastructure for over 10,000 cars and bikes is being created along with a massive space for the main stage spanning 350 Ft X 150 Ft and a total stage area are of over 21,000 sq. ft . The main stage will have over 15,000 sq. ft of LEDs complete with pyros, SFX , Lighting , state of the art AV, confetti’s, installations crafted by artists from all over the world making it the world’s largest stage and many other experiences for the fans. The front of stage area for the fans will be around 5,00,000 square feet.

Sunburn 17, will be the first ever large format international event at the Oxford Golf Course. Sunburn will actually create a brand new infrastructure at Oxford Golf Course that will benefit the city and the state forever.

December 2016 saw unprecedented protests and accusations for the festival which fell flat as the last day concluded. Sunburn didn't break any laws neither did the Festival destroy anything. 

In fact Sunburn created employment, empowered and enriched the community, branded Kesnand, brought in fans from all over the country and the world. Kesnand, Pune was put on the world music map. Sunburn entertained fans with the best in music and technology immersed in nature. Carving its niche as the preferred lifestyle brand of the millennial generation, Sunburn 2016 contributed approximately Rs.1.4 crores as direct revenue to the government and generated a business of about Rs.250 crores for the region through hotel, F&B, transport and miscellaneous expenses incurred by the festival goers. Keshand in particular has seen unprecedented development of commerce and business.

Ola Sunburn Festival 11 is all set to take the dance music experience to the next level from the 28th to the 31st of December with a special NYE performance by World #1 DJ, Martin Garrix along with Afrojack along with electronic dance music legends Infected Mushroom. The festival will also feature Belgian duo and world #2 DJs, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike on 28th December. The stellar line-up also includes the best live act of 2017, KSHMR along with the ‘Rockabye’ hitmakers Clean Bandit. After a packed Sunburn arena earlier this year, DJ Snake makes a comeback to the festival with his performance on 29th December. Sunburn Festival 2017 will also feature performances from Kayzo, Coon, Nucleya, Justin Mylo, Ten Walls and a host of others over the span of 4 days.  

On entering a new decade, Ola Sunburn is looking at creating an array of experiences for the attendees that would not only give dance music enthusiasts memories that last a lifetime but also redefine the way entertainment and live music is consumed in the country. To ensure fans and dance music aficionados have a seamless experience, OLA Sunburn has customized their experience with a seamless parking and venue access facility, where to enhance the experience every car entering the parking zone will be charged a minimal cash toll fee for better arrangements.  Cashless experience with the tech-equipped OLA Sunburn Smart Band for all internal purchases - F&B and merchandise at the festival without the hassles of credit cards or cash.  Fans can expect a world class experience with on-site luxury camping options, heart of the festival with array of food courts, experience zones, flea markets, chill zones among other things.     

Ola Sunburn festival 2017 will be creating a world class food experience, curated by Eat Play Love. Attendees will be welcomed by the Aroma’s of fresh food cooked live and experience the best of cuisines from Iconic local and national establishments along with culinary delights from around the world. For the first time, sunburn will have sit down dining experience too.

The festival will have a separate zone at the venue for a luxury on-site camping with inclusion of breakfast in the package cost. There will be flood of activites from morning to the night starting from the Yoga sessions, movie screening, jam sessions, jugglers, Kite flyers, Burma bridge, bon fire and many more. Tents available for 2 people and 4 people with packages coming out shortly. Gold games and lessons available too.

Ola Sunburn festival will host 4 featured stages – Sunburn main stage, Krunk showcase stage, Psy Stage, Techno stage and more with 95+ more artists with a powerpack lineup spread across 4 days. 

Sunburn festival will also have a live stream of all 4 days on multiple platforms including Facebook with state of the art technology, a multi camera setup and live editing. The previous year saw a phenomenal response to the live stream with a reach of over 55 Million.  

Launched last year as a brand extension of brand Sunburn this year, Sunburn Echo featuring a live stream of the headliners from the main festival will be hosted across 10 cities including Indore, Raipur, Mangalore, Dehradun, Kolkata, Delhi, Lucknow and Bhopal among others, featuring a live emcee, DJs, SFX and the works gave an authentic experience of Sunburn.
