PME Entertainment Invests Rs 100 Crore In Miss World 2023

PME Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. is an international events & music organization headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The company has announced a 100-crore rupee investment for the Miss World beauty pageant scheduled to be held in Kashmir in December.
Under Chairman Jamil Ajmal Saidi, the company manages a vast network of artists, talents, venues, promotions, marketing companies, and other professional teams that enable it to produce spectacular shows and events all over the world.
Saidi revealed that the Dubai-based company is in the process of creating a separate entity for backing the Miss World contest in India this year.
The beauty pageant will likely air 22 episodes leading up to the final event before a winner is determined. Saidi reportedly expects an indirect boost to tourism, hospitality, and beauty sectors riding on the popularity of the Miss World pageant.
PME reportedly approached the Miss World Organization to secure a long-term contract for hosting the Miss World event. In a conversation with the Mint, Saidi said the contract allowed them to choose any location, but he wanted to bring it back to India after 30 years, “We could have hosted the event anywhere in the world, but we wanted to showcase India. It is now a big global power since the event was held in India last time."
PME is reportedly currently in the process of finalising the broadcaster, sponsors, location, and if the main event will be ticketed, actively meeting the state government representatives from Kashmir.
The Miss World pageant sees participation from 94 countries. The last time India hosted the pageant was in 1996 and has so far had six winners, including actors Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra, over the course of its 71-year history.
