Announcing Eddie Izzard's India debut, Only Much Louder (OML) founder Vijay Nair tweeted yesterday: "Excited to announce that stand-up comedy legend Eddie Izzard will be touring India for the first time next month."
The Yemen born 52 year old, Eddie Izzard started his career as a street performer in London. His humble beginnings gradually led him to hire the Ambassador, a theatre at London’s Westend, where he performed his first award winning show in 1993 ‘Eddie Izzard: Live at the Ambassadors’. Three years later he tried his hand at films, and since then has featured in smash-hits like Oceans Twelve and Thirteen, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Valkyrie, Avengers etc.
Edward John Izzard known famously as “Eddie” will be performing his award winning comedy in Bengaluru at Ambedkar Bhavan, in Mumbai at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandiri and in Delhi at NCUI on 15th, 16th and 17th of February 2017 respectively. While tickets for the Delhi show are in phase 2 and are selling at Rs 2000 a pop, Bangalore is in phase 3 and selling for Rs 1500 and Mumbai, the most enthusiastic of the lot, is in phase 4 and selling for Rs 3000. Eddie’s tour in India is being managed by Only Much Louder, the guys who produce music festival NH7 Weekender, and are behind bringing to India sold-out international acts including Megadeth, Lady Gaga, Russell Peters, Norah Jones and suchlike.
