In the first half of the year, 2022 Germany saw record growth in visitors from India and with increasing visitors drawn towards sustainable experiences, it is now a big attempt to expand the base.
According to reports, to encourage travellers to tour and experience its sustainable and rich culture Germany has now launched its Autumn/Winter campaign. As per the campaign, Germany is among the best European destinations to travel sustainably, with a focus on authentic cuisine, unspoilt landscapes, urban attractions, and historical locales.
As per the information released by the German National Tourist Office (GNTO) in India, the ‘Feel Good’ campaign will comprise a host of guiding tips that will be highlighting the country’s eco-initiatives and thereby offer conscious travellers adequate tools and information on how to reduce their carbon footprint while touring different regions.
The campaign is one of the various steps undertaken by the German National Tourism Board to achieve the goals set by the German Environment Agency to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 65 per cent by 2030, and complete neutrality by 2045.
Speaking about this, Romit Theophilus, Director of the German National Tourist Office added that Germany will continue to position itself as one of the Indians’ all-time favourite destinations with easy accessibility and valuable tourism experiences that can cater to all travel desires. For the Indian market, the focus will be on creating awareness and offering eco-friendly and sustainable things to do to promote Germany as a responsible and sustainable tourism destination, he elaborated.
Germany’s ‘Feel Good’ campaign offers the right advice and tips to enjoy sustainability on the move in the country. Not only can travellers reduce their ecological footprint, but they can also calculate their carbon emissions through CO2 calculator, ensuring their trip is climate neutral and as sustainable as possible, Romit added.
