Visit Maldives and Manta Air have partnered with leading Maldivian resorts, and have announced the ‘Explore Maldives’ roadshow, scheduled for 26 June, 2024, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bengaluru. This exclusive event aims to attract more Indian tourists and foster networking opportunities between the Maldivian hospitality industry and Indian travel leaders.

The roadshow signifies a major effort to strengthen tourism ties between India and the Maldives. As the travel industry continues to recover and evolve, initiatives like this are crucial for driving sustained growth and enhancing the travel experiences of tourists from both countries.

Scheduled for 26 June at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bengaluru, the ‘Explore Maldives’ roadshow will host over 150 top travel agents, tour operators, and other representatives from India. The event will feature renowned resort partners such as Universal Resorts, Minor Hotels, NH Collection, Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, Sun Siyam Resorts, Villa Hotels & Resorts, PULSE Hotels & Resorts, AAA Hotels & Resorts, Angsana, COMO, RIU, and more. This gathering will provide a platform for networking and collaboration within the travel industry.

The roadshow aims to highlight the Maldives as a premier travel destination by engaging key stakeholders in networking sessions and presentations. It offers a unique opportunity for attendees to connect with representatives from various Maldivian resorts and guest houses, exploring the diverse offerings of the Maldives.

Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), underlined the significance of the Indian market, "India stands out as one of the fastest-growing outbound tourism markets today, and it remains a pivotal market for the Maldives. This upcoming event will undoubtedly serve as a crucial platform for tourism industry stakeholders to connect with the Indian market and showcase the Maldives as a premier destination, highlighting the unique offerings we are blessed with."

By promoting the Maldives as a top destination, the roadshow aims to increase travel from India, helping to regain and surpass previous market positions for Indian inbound travellers. 

In 2023, the Indian travel market was ranked as the best-performing market. This roadshow seeks to further develop the tourism industry in the Maldives and strengthen relationships with the Indian travel market. It provides opportunities for resorts and guesthouses to meet and network with Indian industry leaders, including travel agencies, tour operators, and other stakeholders.
