Diverse Designs Take Centre Stage: 49th Edition Of Lakme Fashion Week Unveils Line-up

Excitement is building with the return of India's Lakme Fashion Week, presented in collaboration with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and Reliance Brands (RBL). The much-anticipated event is scheduled to unfold at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai from 13 -17 March, 2024. The House of Lakme, FDCI, and RBL are gearing up to redefine Indian fashion by blending elements of fashion, beauty, modernity, and individual expression. This 49th edition promises a captivating journey into the realm of sartorial splendour, featuring renowned designers taking centre stage.

The grand culmination of Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI awaits fashion enthusiasts on 17 March with the House of Lakme Grand Finale, showcasing the new collection of an award-winning couturier.

Celebrating the rich heritage of indigenous crafts, FDCI is placing handlooms in the spotlight, championing the ‘Made in India’ ethos. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to explore collections beyond the runway through the FDCI Stockroom and engage directly with designers on-site. This season, FDCI has three showcases in store, including FDCI Presents ‘Measure’ featuring an international designer, GQ X FDCI Men’s Edit highlighting designers Countrymade, Jaywalking, and Rishta by Arjun Saluja, and a collaboration with Pearl Academy for ‘First Cut’. The stage is set for a fusion of creativity and culture at this year's Lakme Fashion Week.

All presentations will be available for live streaming through the platform's OTT partners, JioCinema and JioTV. Lakme showcases and initiatives will additionally be streamed on Lakme's social media channels. The event will be broadcast live on both LFW and FDCI social media platforms, ensuring a global reach to the vast Indian and international fashion audience.

The House of Lakme is set to introduce a fusion of beauty and technology, emphasising a modern, trendsetting, and high-performance approach to beauty. The season kicks off with the INIFD presents GenNext Showcase, introducing four new winners: Rohitash Notani (Rosani), Charmee Ambavat (The Terra Tribe), Kriti Greta Singhee (Kriti Greta Singhee), and Shimona Agrawal (Shimona Agrawal). The Atelier opens with the unveiling of Lakme presents LFW Edition: Fashion X Beauty Trends, created by Perclers Paris—a trend magazine featuring the most anticipated global trends for 2024/25 in fashion, beauty, design, and lifestyle. The opening evening, presented by FDCI and RBL, features a unique collaboration between fashion and sport, concluding with a showcase of the polo brand La Martina and a special capsule collection designed by Rajesh Pratap Singh.

Day 2 promises a line-up of distinguished designers including Yavi, TIL, Inca, Gaurang, Akaaro by Gaurav Jai Gupta, and Urvashi Kaur. Tea Culture of the World, in collaboration with Chola, will offer the audience an immersive experience blending the flavors of tea with Chola's playful collection. Making a return from the previous New Delhi season, Kalki graces the ramp in this edition with the INARA collection, unveiling a world of timeless elegance and sophistication.

Partners of the platform are set to collaborate with designers for highly anticipated showcases in the upcoming season. Among them are NEXA Presents Shantnu Nikhil, R|ElanTM X JJV Kapurthala, Lakme Salon Presents Geisha Designs, and Ajio Luxe presents AK|OK by Anamika Khanna. Additionally, One Infinite will host two shows featuring a lineup of multiple designers, including Varun Chakkilam, Vika by Arvind Ampula, Sakshi Bhat, Sejal Kamdar, Charu & Vasundhara, along with various showstoppers.

This season, the platform welcomes a slew of new partners. The global brand Skechers is set to showcase its latest streetwear apparel collection, while the collaboration between global brand Corona and leading luxe-boho brand Saaksha & Kinni promises to make a statement. LG is making its mark by launching the premium Objet collection with MoodUpTM Refrigerator in collaboration with designers Gauri and Nainika. A special edit titled 'All You Can Street' will feature streetwear designers, and the jewellery line Valliyan will present a unique showcase this season.

Among the other notable designers participating in the season are Anushree Reddy, Archana Rao, Aikeyah, Deme by Gabriella, Esse, Diksha Khanna, Gaurang, Itrh, Nirmooha, Ranna Gill, Rajdeep Ranawat, Ritika Mirchandani, SWGT, Siddharth Tytler, Shahin Mannan, Valliyan, 1:30, and more. The stage is set for a diverse and captivating array of designs from these prominent names in the fashion industry.
