Delhi's Walled Markets Embrace Lord Rama's Spirit

In anticipation of the consecration ceremony for the upcoming Shri Ram Temple on 22 January, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) orchestrated a significant Shri Ram Sanvad program at the National Club in Delhi. A pivotal decision emerged during the event, declaring that the markets of Old Delhi would be immersed in devotion to Lord Ram in the forthcoming days. All trader associations in Old Delhi are set to organise Shri Rama Sanvad programs in their respective markets, encouraging a festive atmosphere reminiscent of Diwali on 22 January.

The Shri Ram Sanvad program witnessed the active participation of trade leaders from over 100 associations in the walled city. Chaired by Subhash Goyal, a prominent business leader in Delhi, the session included CAIT's National Secretary, Praveen Khandelwal, and Delhi State President Vipin Ahuja, among others. Recognising 22 January as a historic day, trade leaders resolved to launch a "Shri Ram Campaign" across various markets, including Chandni Chowk, Bhagirath Place, New Road, Chawri Bazaar, Ajmeri Gate, Daryaganj, Shradhanand Bazaar, Khari Baoli, Naya Bazaar, Kashmiri Gate, and Sadar Bazaar.

The campaign encompasses Shri Ram hymns, processions, and various events aimed at adorning markets with vibrant decorations and colorful lights. On 22 January, large LED displays will be installed in public places and markets, broadcasting live coverage of the events in Ayodhya. Markets will feature prominent models of the Shri Rama Temple, complemented by musical performances and recitations of the Hanuman Chalisa and Sundarkand at various locations. Additionally, elaborate arrangements for hymn recitals and grand feasts are planned in every market. Collectively, all trade associations have devised an extensive plan to transform the entire urban area into a vibrant representation of Shri Ram’s abode.
