Debauchery Central: The hottest parties of Goa in Dec '13

Particularly vibrant during the month of December, Goa attracts visitors from across the world during ‘season time’ and while air-fare and hotel rentals have shot up exponentially (much to our dismay) this exodus of tourists has led to some class-apart parties and unparalleled events. Heres a round-up of some of the best parties witnessed by Goa as it ushered in 2014.

Hero Honda Sunburn

Held over three days from 27 Dec- 29 Dec at Vagator beach, Sunburn 2013 played host to 80,000 people and concluded its 7th edition with a legendary set by DJ Axwell while Pete Tong, clearly dissatisfied, played simultaneously at a relatively much smaller stage for a handful loyalists. Electrifying energy and exhilarating music makes this festival one of the biggest music events in Asia year after year.

VH1 Supersonic

We must say Nikhil Chinapa in collab with Viacom18 did manage to pull off Supersonic rather well considering all the preceding acrimony with its now ‘rival’- Sunburn. Although it could not generate the same kind of footfall as Sunburn, for its first edition it has definitely exceeded our expectations.

Heineken Krank

With a set of pre-parties to launch the season, the third edition of Krank presented by Heineken ran over three days from 28th to 30th December at Teso Waterfront at Siolim. Claiming to be a boutique music festival with a line-up of primarily non-mainstream artists, Krank boasts of private cabanas and limited crowds for a chill-out party experience.

Chronicle

With its debut this year, Chronicle at Small Vagator with its sea-faced setting and relaxed vibe hosted one of the most chilled out New Years eve parties playing host to many a celebrities. Definitely a place to look out for!

Marbella

Three years in the running, Marbella resort on the pristine shores of Ashwem beach takes inspiration from the coastal city of Marbella in Spain. Bang on the beach with an all white decor, live percussionists, international artists and facing the gaping sea, Marbella is popular for hosting some colourful parties during peak season.

Bardo

Adjacent to Marbella lies Club Bardo. In its second year in 2013, Bardo is a great venue at a superb location. The property features an expansive pool and sundeck that transforms into a dance floor for Bardo's famed sunset parties.

Big Banana

Serving as a confluence of nationalities, Big Banana in Tembe Vadoo, Morjim, is a quaint beach shack that resonates the true spirit of Goa. It launched itself in December 2013 with a series of parties following the kick-off. Set in the off-side region of Morjim the beautiful beachfront landscape lends a great vibe to the place.
