On October 25th and 26th, Jaipur buzzed with excitement as Bollywood celebrities, diplomats, and fashion elites gathered for the Mathuradas Mathur Exhibition Polo Cup -5 and an exclusive opening party at the Fairmont Jaipur. Bollywood icons like filmmaker Boney Kapoor, Tutu Sharma, screenwriter Rumi Jaffrey, and music director Sajid Khan added to the star-studded affair.
Among the distinguished attendees were Stephen Hickling, the British Deputy High Commissioner to India, and Kashiff Khan, Managing Director of Fashion TV Global. The polo match, a fierce competition between Sai Vedant Volvo and Fashion TV, was won by Sai Vedant Volvo with a close score of 5-4. Following the match, the evening transitioned into a fashion show directed by Abhimanyu Tomar, showcasing designer Pankaj Kothari's signature Polo attire collection on the Rajasthan Polo grounds.
The fashion show and a photo exhibition by renowned photographer Shri Sudhir Kasliwal were highlighted features of the evening. Vishaal Mathur, the organizer of the MDM Polo Cup and grandson of the late Mathuradas Mathur, shared that this year’s events, crafted around the Polo Cup, aimed to draw broader interest beyond the sport itself.
A sundowner party hosted by Hotel Fairmont Jaipur rounded off the post-match celebrations.
The pre-match festivities began a month earlier with several notable events, including the unveiling of the Polo Cup season by Sikkim Governor Shri Om Mathur and the poster and jersey launches with Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani and Rajasthan’s Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar.
