Azerbaijan Tourism Board held a press conference in Mumbai, marking a milestone in Azerbaijan-India tourism ties. BRANDit was announced as the new representative office in India, reflecting Indian travellers' rising interest in Azerbaijan.
Florian Sengstschmid, CEO, Azerbaijan Tourism Board, and Lubaina Sheerazi, CEO, BRANDit, discussed strategies for boosting Azerbaijan's presence in the Indian market.
Sengstschmid pointed out, "Tourism relations between Azerbaijan and India are at a historic high, with increasing arrival numbers and many new emerging experiences and tourism opportunities for Indians, including family and solo vacations, destination weddings, Bollywood and Tamil movies shooting. Comparing to the same period last year, the number of Indian tourists visiting Azerbaijan has surpassed a twofold rise (2.6). With the appointment of BRANDit as our representative office, we are poised to sustain and elevate this growing trend.”
Sengstschmid additionally disclosed the fruitful conclusion of a roadshow across three Indian cities—Bangalore, Pune, and Kolkata—engaging prominent travel trade representatives to fortify tourism collaborations.
After his comments, Sheerazi conveyed her excitement about the partnership. She revealed, “We’re thrilled to partner with the Azerbaijan Tourism Board as part of BRANDit’s growing portfolio. Our collaboration aims to unveil Azerbaijan's hidden treasures and connect Indians with its unique experiences and use our expertise in the Indian outbound market, travel trade, and media to capture the growing interest in the destination."
Azerbaijan's rising appeal to Indian travellers is credited to its convenient flights, streamlined e-visa procedure, and dynamic cultural and business landscape. E-visas within three days for just US$ 26, combined with direct flights, ensure a smooth journey to Azerbaijan.
The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) successfully concluded a three-city roadshow in India, covering Pune, Chennai, and Jaipur. Led by Arvind Bundhun, Director, the delegation fostered collaborative growth in the tourism sector. Additionally, the Mauritian government offers ‘Visa on arrival’, a single-entry Visa obtainable at the airport, easing travel from India.
