Bhutan's 50th Tourism Anniversary Marked By Exclusive India Roadshow

As the peak holiday season approaches in India, this road show will run from 17 to 21 June, 2024

As per media reports, to celebrate 50 years of tourism, Bhutan is launching a special India Road Show from 17 to 21 June, 2024, focusing on summer travel. Since welcoming tourists in 1974, India has remained one of Bhutan’s key markets. As India's peak holiday season approaches, the road show will cover four major cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. The event offers a platform for travel industry professionals to connect, discover business opportunities, and curate unique travel experiences in Bhutan.

Bhutan has emerged as a prime destination for Indian travellers, especially during summer. In May 2024 itself, 19,212 Indian travellers visited Bhutan, indicating a 100 per cent increase from April. Indian tourists are drawn to Bhutan's rich heritage, spiritual offerings, and breathtaking natural landscapes.

The India Roadshow across four cities aims to foster networking, collaboration, and business growth among industry professionals. Targeting corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), luxury, and leisure buyers, the roadshows will create opportunities for new partnerships and expansion.

Approximately 20 Bhutanese exhibitors, including tour operators, hotels, and airlines, will join the roadshow, presenting exclusive offers, packages, and promotions. Each event will highlight traditional Bhutanese culture and include thrilling lucky draws, with return flight tickets to Bhutan as prizes.

Carissa Nimah, Chief Marketing Officer, Bhutan Tourism, mentioned, “Bhutan is excited to bring the beauty of Bhutan to our friends in India through this road show. Bhutan offers a unique blend of nature, culture, and spirituality that is unlike anywhere else in the world. We invite all travel trade professionals to join us at this prestigious event and engage with top buyers in the industry. We look forward to sharing our wonderful country with Indian travellers and inviting them to discover the magic of Bhutan.”
