10 biggest events held at Dome NSCI in 2017
1. The 62nd Filmfare Awards
The Filmfare Awards, one of the oldest film awards ceremonies in India, are presented annually by The Times Group to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Hindi language film industry of India. Introduced in 1954, the same year as the National Film Awards, and were initially referred to as the Clare Awards or The Clares. The contemporary Filmfare Awards evening is the definitive entertainment act of the movie calendar year.
2. Mirchi Music Awards
India’s biggest musical extravaganza – the Royal Stag Mirchi Music Awards Co-Powered by Dabur Red Paste & Baba Elaichi – was held earlier in 2017 at Dome@NSCI, SVP, Worli. It marked a change in the usual format, when the event was opened to the public for the very first time. Many Bollywood A-listers attended the star-studded event including Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Varun Dhawan, Shilpa Shetty and newcomer, Diljit Dosanjh. The melodious voices of stalwarts like Amit Trivedi, Papon, Badshah, Armaan Malik, Sukhwinder Singh, Jubin Nautiyal, Shalmali Kholgade, Neeti Mohan, and Neha Bhasin could be heard throughout the venue as they performed.
3. Brave India – MMA
Dome@NSCI hosted Brave India – MMA on April 2017. The match saw veteran along with fresh MMA fighters battle for the title. There were the likes of Abdul Muneer from Bangalore, who is also popularly known as the “Sultan of Calicut” along with Canada- based Gurdarshan Mangat. There was also a showdown between international fighters who included England’s Carl Booth and France’s Tahar Hadbi. Dome is considered the most suited venue for the event as it not only provides ample space but also a 360 degree view to its audience.
4. BMW 5 Series Launch
India’s most sought-after indoor events venue, Dome@NSCI, and the globally coveted automobile brand BMW joined hands for the launch of BMW 5 Series. International car brand BMW launched its series 5 sedan in a grand event in the presence of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. The brand chose Dome@NSCI, the perfect venue for a car launch, for its spacious air-conditioned arena, in-built truss, and other facilities available. The BMW i8 Series was also launched here previously.
5. Bridal Asia Exhibition
Celebrated as the pioneer of bridal and lifestyle exhibition in the subcontinent, the well-travelled Bridal Asia Exhibition made its Mumbai stop at Dome@NSCI between 9th August 2017 and 11th August 2017. The gala exhibition saw leading brands offering a one stop shop to all brides dreaming of their fairy tale wedding. Dome was a perfect choice for this exhibition as the venue provided enough space to help the brands showcase their collections with a class.
6. Star Parivaar Awards
Star Parivaar Awards is one of the most premium awards shows for the television industry hosted by Star India. It felicitates the actors and professionals from the industry who have worked with the channel, and have become an integral part of Star Parivaar. This glamorous event was hosted on 13th May, 2017. The event indeed was a grand success in television industry.
7. Dome Dandiya Nights
Dome@NSCI celebrated Navratri with their trademark event Dome Dandiya Nights from 24th September - 30th September 2017. The venue was filled with happy people, in their traditional finery, celebrating the festival and dancing to the tunes of Garba. Dome showcased a larger than life experience with a fusion of traditional Garba with Bollywood-style Dandiya with the Ramzat Group – by Milan & Nimesh and with singers like Dileish Doshi, Archana Mahajan, Rajendra Gadhavi and Hetal Sodha. The event was supported by various partners like NSCI is the venue partner, Bright Outdoors being the outdoor partner, Red FM, the radio partner and Blue Pine being the water partner.
8. IOS Boxing - Vijendra Singh
DOME@NSCI saw star boxer from Haryana, Vijender Singh stepping into the venue to fight for the IOS Boxing. It is the perfect venue for hosting the event because of its spacious arena and the 360 degree seating has been designed in such a way that it gives it spectators a perfect view of the match. Dome@NSCI likes to promote traditional sports events like boxing, kabaddi, which encourages its viewers to be fit and also showcases the spirit of the sports.
9. Pro Kabaddi League
2017 was the third consecutive year that saw Dome@NSCI host Pro Kabaddi League, one of the most celebrated Kabaddi leagues in India and synonymous with the revival of the sport in the country. The venue witnessed some of the most renowned faces from the sports and Bollywood industry, playing and cheering for the sport. Dome was the most suited venue for this event because of its huge area which could easily make up for the ground of the game.
10. Kids Choice Awards
Dome@NSCI hosted one of the biggest kid’s awards in association with Nicklodeon - Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2017, on the 15th of December, 2017. The event saw celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Aliaa Bhatt having a gala time with the kids. Being the largest indoor events venue, it helped Dome spread itself with lavish stage and a huge audience.
