He also spoke about how the right workplace plays a key role in attracting and retaining good talent.

“It is extremely important to have a proper workplace because the biggest differentiator between a company’s success and failure is talent, and to attract and retain good talent, workplace plays a key role. Also, such a conference brings to fore conversations around workplace and the trends shaping it.”

Speaking about the evolution of workplace culture over the years, Magazine said, “There has been exceptional change in the way we look at workplaces now compared to earlier times. For example cabins used to be popular concepts, now seamless, agile office spaces are in style. There is more focus on collaborative office spaces. So there has been a phenomenal shift in the way workplaces have evolved over the years.”

“If we look at the last few years, the quantum of office space taken up by large corporates in India is one of the highest in the world. There is more office space taken up by corporates in Bangalore than any other city in APAC.  Lot of these companies are Indian companies which have international presence especially in the US and Europe. India will be the top country in innovation as far as workspace is concerned in the next few years”, he further added while speaking about India’s growing clout when it comes to modern workplaces.

When asked whether workspace culture conversations are predominantly an urban phenomena, Magazine said, “Though its a primarily urban trend, but even in tier 2, tier 3 cities there is perceptible change and the trend is trickling to smaller towns fast.”
