With plans to open branch offices in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad and 21 academies in teir-2 cities across the country offering international level certificates in Bollywood dancing, Dancesmith is on an aggressive expansion mode. “In last four and half years, we have become the fastest growing dance event company by performing 2,100+ shows so far”, says Kayal. He adds with pride, “We introduced various new concept in the market like Bridal entry performances, we redefined Bollywood shows and the response from our clients has been extremely encouraging. I’m proud that we are able to set trends in this space, so much so that our work has been continuously followed and performed by various other troupes on various platforms in the country.”
Besides delivering on their promise of quality Dancesmith is also a frontrunner when it comes to 'quantity'. The company was featured in The Limca book of Records for performing 510 shows in the year 2015, the highest number of shows performed by any organization in one year. Besides this, DanceSmith has also earned 5 national records in 2016 in various section of India Book of Records which are Dance troupe performed at Most Cities (83 cities), Most Shows (773 shows), Most Travelled (3,613,500 km), Most Venues (419 venues) and For Most Clients (290 clients) across India and abroad.
The company has also registered many ‘firsts’. It is the first professional Bollywood performing company to have received ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certificate in February 2015 and the first professional dance performance company accredited with the OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) certificate in year May 2016.
There was a period of lull within the artist community after demonetization was announced last year. Speaking about how that impacted the company Kayal comments, “During demonetization, there was a 20- 25% slowdown in business but that time was needed to regularize things. Now everything is getting on track very smoothly. Because of demonetization systems are now more organized and transparent, the industry can finally play on the front foot now.”
India has the fastest growing economy and the best time for the entertainment industry.
