Showtime Group has won the tender issued by Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Govt. of India to create the India pavilion at the COP22 Summit slated for November in Marrakech.
Commenting on this development, Michael Menezes, Chairman, Showtime Group said: “It is heartening to see great work getting the recognition it deserves. With the India Pavilion at COP21, we had set a global benchmark and we hope to raise the bar this time around, too.”
The "Conference of the Parties” is the supreme decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The2015 COP21, also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, for the first time in over 20 years of UN negotiations, achieved a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C.
The 22nd Session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22) will be held in Marrakech, November 7 to 18, 2016. It will focus on action items in order to achieve the priorities of The Paris Agreement, especially related to adaptation, transparency, technology transfer, mitigation, capacity building and loss and damages. Signatories to The Paris Agreement now have to develop their National Adaptation Plans.
