The Zee Literature Festival 2018, which was founded in the year 2006, announced its first cut of speakers recently, including Abeer Y. Hoque, Benjamin Dix, Carin Gerhardsen, Dipankar Gupta, Era Tak, among others.
The festival produced by Teamwork Arts has welcomed nearly 2000 speakers and over a million book lovers over the past decade. It is considered to be the world’s largest free literary festival and it was also described as ‘The grandest literary festival of them all’ in August 2008 by Miranda Seymour.
This year, the festival is welcoming over 250 writers, thinkers, politicians, journalists and popular cultural icons from over 35 different nationalities.Also, it expects to welcome speakers representing over 15 Indian and more than 20 international languages. The forthcoming edition of the Festival will partner with major Indian and global brands, claimed the founders.
The Directors of the literary festival are Namita Gokhale and Willliam Dalrymple. Also, it is produced by Sanjoy Roy of Teamwork Arts. Whereas, Surina Narula, is the Founder Sponsor and Festival Advisor for the literary festival.
The Festival is an initiative of the Jaipur Virasat Foundation founded by Faith Singh, originally as a segment of the Jaipur Heritage International Festival in 2006, and developed into a free-standing festival of literature standing on its own feet since 2008. Also, JVF's Community Director Vinod Joshi is its regional advisor.
All events at the festival are free and not ticketed.
