Multi Sports Presenter Saarthak Opens Up On Covering US Open For A Leading Tennis Podcast

Sports presenter Saarthak who has single handedly hosted this year’s French Open games live shows broadcasted by Sony Sports Network. Also, he has recently hosted all the episodes of “12th Khiladi’s” IPL 2022, along with an exclusive interview with the renowned Rashid Khan aka ‘Cricketer of the Decade’, for 12th Khiladi. Sure. Now he will be Commentating throughout US Open for the Number 1 LIVE Tennis podcast on YouTube, 'Game To Love'.

Speaking about this year's US Open and who he sees on top, he says,"It's highly unlikely that Novak Djokovic will be allowed to play, with less than a week remaining now for the US Open to start. He would have been my outright favourite to lift the final Slam of the year. Rafael Nadal is a name that can never be ignored at any Grand Slam. Given his withdrawal with an abdominal injury at Wimbledon, lack of match practice and the early loss at Cincinnati, I am not too sure of his chances here. I am picking Jannik Sinner, the 21 year old Italian sensation, to make a deep run or possibly go all the way. He showcases maturity way beyond his years. His game has all the exquisite elements to turn him into a multiple Grand Slam champion soon. Few of my other strong contenders on the men's side would be Borna Coric, who just had a fairy-tale title run at Cincinnati, defending champion Daniil Medvedev and the supremely talented Canadian Felix Auger Aliassime."

He continues,"I will be doing LIVE commentary for the upcoming US Open matches on a leading Tennis Podcast based in the UK. We have been covering the hard court tournaments leading to the US Open on the same Podcast. The US Open has been the most open Slam in terms of the men's draw results over the recent past. A number of players outside the Big 3 have won here since 2009. We are all super excited to witness the magic unfold in New York."

In 2019, Saarthak covered one of the most anticipated sports events – the ICC Cricket World Cup in England. During this time, he also anchored ‘Global Sports Fan Awards 2019’ in Manchester, right before the gigantic India-Pakistan World Cup game at Old Trafford. Saarthak has also hosted the ‘NBA Weekly’ for Sony Sports Network in 2019-20, along with anchoring several other sports for the channel including Tennis, Cricket, Hockey, Kabbadi, Wrestling, Volleyball, Running, Swimming, Cycling and Basketball.

Being a multi sport-presenter, Saarthak opens up on his journey and challenges of the same. He says,"Growing up as an athlete myself, I enjoyed participating competitively across multiple sports throughout my college years. The fascination for cricket, tennis, swimming, athletics, basketball and wrestling set in at a very early age. The excitement of watching world class athletes perform on my TV set, really pulled me towards this beautiful world. Whether it was the bowling action of Brett Lee or the forehand of Roger Federer, I would try to imitate the greats of the game. The passion to speak as a presenter / commentator primarily comes in from having played and followed those sports from a very young age. The research work for multiple sports is demanding and one has to study them as deeply as possible. Each sport has its own unique history. More importantly, each sport has teams / players that have their own backgrounds and exclusive journeys. Getting to know and share all of it aptly with the viewers is a constant process."

Lastly he also spoke about what fascinated him towards Tennis and states,"As a child, I grew up watching Grand Slam Tennis matches with my father. We would sit for hours together to watch Tennis and Cricket matches on Television. The thrill and excitement of watching 5 hour marathon Tennis matches on the TV set was something else. It was a world that I instantly connected with. This led me to playing the sport. I started playing Tennis professionally as a Teenager performing at a few national tournaments. The sport has a special place in my heart and it will always be my number 1 sport as a presenter / commentator."
