Microsoft has opened registration for the virtual edition of Build 2020 developer conference
Microsoft will be hosting its Build 2020 developer conference from May 19 to 21. The conference brings together the community of developers to share knowledge and solve new challenges. This year the conference has been switched to online-only and will be streaming live for 48 hours.
The event usually draws more than 6,000 developers. In contrast to Google, which completely scrapped its I/O developer conference this year, Microsoft decided to go ahead with the virtual event.
The tech giant is keeping some of its traditional keynote-style openings intact, with an opening session from CEO Satya Nadella. The virtual event will also host other sessions, talks and demos which will all be held across multiple time zones.
The keynotes will be shorter and crisper as the Microsoft team has decided to focus solely on the audience. The event will be more focussed on providing content that is immediately useful for developers and new products that are either immediately available or will be out soon.
