In a move to enhance adventure and recreational infrastructure, the tourism board has identified potential locations for the construction of hotels, resorts, adventure sports facilities, water sports areas and convention centres. Vivek Shrotriya, Additional Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board mentioned to the media that they have identified land parcels at various tourist places. These places either get high footfall or have the potential to be developed as tourist places. According to Shrotiya, the board is planning to invite bids from investors for around 45 land parcels, of which 12 are for ultra mega projects of more than INR 100 crore.
The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is set to initiate bids for 32 land parcels covering 202.5 hectares and 12 land parcels spanning 430.5 hectares for projects in various locations throughout the state.
The Tourism Board manages over 1,000 hectares of land parcels spread across different parts of the state, including 154 hectares in Indore, 362 hectares in Bhopal, 356 hectares in Gwalior, 764 hectares in Khajuraho and 280 hectares in Jabalpur.
In the Indore region, the tourism board is encouraging industry investments to develop convention centres, hotels, resorts, adventure and water sports facilities. Shrotriya added that every identified location has its own advantage and could be developed into an attractive tourist attraction. As part of the tourism policy, the board is offering many benefits and assistance to investors like a capital subsidy of 15 to 50 per cent up to INR 90 crore, reimbursement of stamp duty and registration charges among many others. The region has recently attracted several investments in the tourism sector.
