Jay Shah To Take On Role Of ICC Chairman: Reports

Shah, who is currently the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), will take up his new role in December this year

According to media reports, Jay Shah is said to be running for the post of the next chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Shah will take over the reins in December this year, stepping in place of Greg Barclay whose term ends in November.

Shah is currently the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and is believed to have received backing from Cricket Australia, England and Wales Cricket Board and other full-time members.

As per an ICC statement, “ICC Chair Greg Barclay confirmed to the Board that he will not stand for a third term and will step down from the post when his current tenure finishes at the end of November. Barclay was appointed as the Independent ICC Chair in November 2020, before being re-elected in 2022."
