Indian Skaters Take The Ice At Thailand Open Ice Skating Trophy 2024

Indian ice skaters showcased their talent on the international stage at the Thailand Open Ice-skating Trophy 2024, held in Bangkok from 3 to 6 May 2024. Aarush Tiwari, Tanishi Krishna, Abrysha Srivastava, Hiya Adlakha and Harshita Ratwani with coaches Simrita Sachdev, Natalie Tikko, Ishita Kapoor and Nishtha Painuli represented India at the event.

The Ice Skating Association of India (ISAI) selected a group of skaters and coaches to represent the country at the tournament. These athletes competed across various categories, including Novice, Intermediate and Junior levels. The Thailand Open Ice Skating Trophy drew participation from over 15 countries.

The Thailand Open Ice Skating Trophy is organised by the Figure and Speed Skating Association of Thailand and supported by the ISU Development.

In India, the sport of ice skating finds dedicated training grounds at the Ambiance Mall rink in Gurgaon. Under the guidance of Coach and General Secretary J.S. Sahney, who boasts over 50 years of experience in skating, aspiring athletes are given the tools and coaching to excel. Sahney is a passionate advocate for the Olympic sport and his dedication is instrumental in driving India's skating talent forward.

The Ice Skating Association of India, led by President Amitabh Sharma, recognises the potential of technology in ice skating. Sharma's vision paves the way for the integration of cutting-edge tools that will empower skaters to gain deeper insights, improve their technique and achieve their full potential.
