BW Businessworld Organised the First Edition ‘Recycling Awards Conclave & Awards’ 2022

The first edition BW Businessworld’s Recycle conclave and awards was a rousing success.

The conclave and awards happened virtually on 15th January 2022. The main focus of the conclave was bringing together like-minded people, acknowledging and awarding the great work done in sustainability, environment, waste management, recycling, and up-cycling. Seven different categories were announced for these awards and nominations. 

With a total of over 80 nominations received in its inaugural year’ 2022, 53 were presented to the jury across 19 categories. Each nominee was given 3 minutes to present their case, followed by questions by a panel of esteemed jurists for the final list of winners which were selected and awarded. 

The jury panel included Dr Annurag Batra, Chairman and Editor in Chief BW Busienssworld, Rajendra Singh, the ‘Waterman of India’, Indian water conservationist and environmentalist, Gauri Sarin, Founder, Making Model Gurgaon Bhumijaa &Living Without Medicine, Sudhir Mishra, Founder, and Managing Partner, Trust Legal, Dr. Samir Joshi, Treasurer, Governing Council Indian Plastics Institute, Ashutosh Joshi, Glasspower Recycling & Glasspower Group, Dr Suneel Pandey, Director- environment and waste management, TERI, and Anshu Gupta, Founder, Goonj & Indian Social Entrepreneur.

There were six panel discussions in the event which talked about creating an efficient and professionally managed ecosystem for waste management, green environment, and conservation. 

The keynote speakers shared their viewpoint and concerns on surrounding glass, plastic and e-waste recycling. The panelist also discussed the processes and chemistry of recycling, also explored the deep socio-economic impact of recycling and how we all can embed it in the everyday lifestyle. 

After rigorous scrutiny by the esteemed jurists, 29 winners were finalised. 

The 13 categories of the winners were: Best Extended Producer Responsibility Strategy, Best Initiative in Recycling Bio-Degradable Waste, Best Recycled or Up-cycled Product of the Year, Best Recycling or Material Recovery Facility of the Year, Best Solid Waste Management Program in a Public-Private Partnership Model, Best Waste Management Initiative by a Private Organization, Innovation in Recycling Process & Technology, Innovative Campaign of the Year, Social Impact Leader in Recycling, Team of the Year, Young Leader in Recycling (Under 40), Best Recycling Public Awareness Campaign of the Year and Best Initiatives in E-waste Recycling.
