BIRA 91 bags United Nations brewery and beer of the month honour

Bira 91, one of the fastest growing beer brands out of India, has bagged  “Brewery of the Month”, and Bira 91 IPA as the “Beer of the Month” honour  at the United Nations. This marks the second time the brand is being featured at the members-only, North Delegates Lounge.

Bira 91’s IPA, is the first bottled IPA out of India. The IPA will be featured throughout the month of June to delegates, ambassadors and other special guests visiting the private lounge of the United Nations’ global headquarters. The North Delegates Lounge is often referred to as the “Seventh Committee” an inside joke between regulars representing the United Nations’ six working committees.

Bira 91’s core promise of making “flavorful beers for the new world” is a natural complement to the world’s foremost intergovernmental organization of which India was a founding member.

High in alcohol (7%), the Bira 91 IPA is made with a mix of two row pilsner malts and brewed with the world’s most flavorful aroma and bitter hops --cascade, magnum, and brewers’ gold. The brew has a refreshing bitterness with a taste that’s true to the original pale ales brewed by British brewers
