Ravin, can you talk a bit about your experience of hosting eSports events?
I hosted my first eSports event almost a decade ago called dew arena. India's largest gaming championship. Along with Dreamhack, World's biggest esports festival, Amazon game on India, and now BGMI master's series. I've witnessed the tremendous growth of the scale of the events. Every passing edition, year after year has been bigger and better than previous eSports events. And finally, an esports event livlives India's biggest sports channel says everything about the growth of the esports industry.
When one thinks about hosting as a career, corporate events and wedding events are the most common route. Can you talk about your journey to get into Sports events?
I started hosting events back in 2010 and started with traditional activations and events for corporates and brands. When the first sports event came my way, I lapped up the opportunity to mix 2 of my passions, public speaking, and sports. From different sports leagues, product launches, marathons, fight nights, store launches, media campaigns, and much more. To name some- Ultimate Karate League on Sony Ten, La Liga India launch, Kia motors OMBC FIFA world cup & Australian Open, Adidas Tango League India, S. C. Liverpool trophy, Puma urban stampeded, and recently virtual sessions with ICC cricket teams like New Zealand and Australia.
Where do you see esports events in the next 5 years?
There are no stopping eSports. with the kind of numbers of viewers and money that are flowing in the Indian esports market, it's only going to get bigger and bigger. Gaming industry news puts eSports global revenue in 2022 at $ 1 + Billion USD. By 2027, $ 2 Billion USD would be a very safe bet.
