Josy Paul will be at EEMAX Global and here's why you want to attend...

A unique niche in the advertising industry, Josy has created messages that have helped brands centre themselves in the root of an awakening, examples being #Sharetheload for Ariel, Women against lazy stubble for Gillette, Touchthepickle for Whisper and so on.

Paul, who was the pioneer of a creativity led differentiated offering in the advertising space, had started off his career at Ogilvy, followed by JWT and Lowe, after which the out-of-the box thought bugs couldn’t stop biting.

In 2000, he created RMG David, which first ‘toyed’ with the idea of letting creative freedom of the next generation challenge the existing. The office of David reflected the philosophy, and it was set up as a playroom to provide the ambience. One of Josy’s many inspirations are the words of Kersy Katrak, from whom he got an offer while working with Lowe. The words were “I hire you with the freedom to fail” and they have evidently been key to shaping his spirit.

BBDO India was established in 2008, with the support of Chris Thomas, CEO, BBDO Asia, and partnership of Ajay Jhala, CEO. The company seeked to carve out a different route right from the beginning, with advertising that displayed content that would make news, and reach grass root levels, and use the enormous power that advertising holds in India to address social issues.

Josy, whose initial focus was far from competing in awards in 2009, but rather to create something that would set people speculating, has come a long way since then and Paul now sits on the jury of several advertising conclaves and awards, like Adfest 2016, New York Festivals Executive jury, Spikes 2014, and London International Awards, BBDO India having won the Black Lion at Cannes, the only agency in Asia to hold the laurel.
