IDBI Federal Life Insurance Mumbai Half Marathon 2016 flagged off by Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar was on hand at the Oval Maidan flagging off all three races, animatedly cheering on the participating Mumbaikars as they ran in support of the events NGO partners - Concern India, Apnalaya and Think Foundation.

Sachin Tendulkar, Face of the IDBI Federal Life Insurance Mumbai Half Marathon said, “This is a massive day for Mumbai. It is a great initiative by IDBI Federal Life Insurance to promote something which will have a positive impact on the common man as far as health and lifestyle are concerned. The participants here today are our heroes, to be able to do what they did requires a lot of discipline, dedication, planning, and execution. I am looking forward to the vibrancy in the Delhi and Kolkata editions as well."

Vighnesh Shahane, CEO, IDBI Federal Life Insurance said, “It has been an invigorating experience for all of us invested in the IDBI Federal Life Insurance Mumbai Half Marathon. Months of hard work and planning have gone into the making the inaugural event a massive success. We were delighted to see Mumbaikars come out in such large numbers to participate in our inaugural run. We hope that this will have a positive impact on their overall health and fitness and possibly motivate others as well.”

Nagraj Adiga, Race Director said, "It's been an immense pleasure being a part of this inaugural edition of the Mumbai Half Marathon. It is heartening to see such a massive number of health conscious Mumbaikars come out and participate in this marathon, we hope to see much more come and join us next year."

Rahul Kr Pal was the first across the finish line, winning the Half Marathon (Male) title with a timing of 1:04:28. Runner-up Kalidas Hirave was a few seconds behind and came in at 1:04:31. Damor Mohanbhai followed suit, in third place with a timing of 1:05:01. Jyoti Chauhan won the Half Marathon (Women) with a timing of 1:28:25 with runner-up Seema clocking a timing of 1:29:32. On completion of the Half Marathon and the 10K run, hundreds were seen wearing a ‘finishers’ medal, proud to have been a part of the inaugural event.
