GACS organised the Innovation and Startup Summit to discuss the possibilities of collaboration with startups on 17th Feb 2023 in New Delhi. Baldeo Purushartha, Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance was the chief guest of the event.

With the spirit of keeping the workplaces safe and also the event venue, the GACS Innovation and Start-up Summit started with a briefing followed by the National Anthem.
Col Ashok Prabhakar, Chapter Executive Committee Member & industry veteran welcomed the Speakers and Delegates the summit and set up the context of bringing thought leadership to the forefront and provided a quick overview of the GACS journey over the last 6 years since inception.
The chief guest of the summit, Baldeo Purushartha - Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance put forth his views on the current economic situation in India and how India has become a preferred destination for organisations worldwide. The way 84,000 startups are functional in today’s ecosystem is creditable & this number will continuously rise. He also emphasised the importance of disruptive innovation in today’s business ecosystem. The growth is clearly dependent on how start-ups work in today’s time. He also talked about our neighboring countries and their working styles to get us familiar with the available work systems.
He also pointed out that there has been a 138 per cent increase in start-ups since 2016 with over 40 per cent of these companies settled in tier 2 and 3 cities in the country opening gates to over nine lakh direct jobs. He also shared that January 16, is National Startup Day as announced by the PM of India. During his highly interactive engagement.
Purushartha provides a sneak preview of how the government is working towards making India the startup hub of the world. He shared how the government has changed gears to work closely with the corporate sector thereby simplifying the entire approach. He also engaged in a dialogue with the audience to make sure the point of view from his side is well received.
Keynote Speaker, Kunwar B Ashok Arora, spoke about the need and importance of innovations and startups in today's time. During his interactive session, he spoke about the CEO’s perspective and expectations from the corporate services fraternity.
He also emphasised that start-ups or innovations by organisations might seem questionable but in reality, this helps in creating a workforce of the future. He also put forth some strong points with respect to work ethics needed in today’s context and innovations are critical towards organisational growth.
In a panel discussion, which was focused on "Innovations and Startups: The corporate services way" between esteemed panelists, Rishi Raj - COO, Max Estates Ltd, Rahul Agarwal - Senior Director, India Operations, BCG, Capt. Ashok B. Shiroor - Founder and MD - Mikroz Info Security Pvt. Ltd and Budhesh Chopra - Director - SSSi & Managing Director – DigiVersal brought multiple aspects from various industries. The discussion was moderated by Capt Rajesh Sharma, EVP of HDFC Bank.
