After four decades, the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), in collaboration with the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Northern India (HRANI), organised a landmark Stakeholders’ Meet at the Radisson Collection Hotel and Spa, Srinagar. The event aimed at promoting partnerships, advocating for policy changes and tourism development in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
A standout moment during the event was the presentation of the Hospitality Excellence Award to Mushtaq Chaya, Chairman and Managing Director of the Mushtaq Group of Hotels and Chairman of the Hoteliers Club Srinagar. The award was given in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the hospitality sector in Jammu and Kashmir. The award was presented by the Chief Guest, Vikramjit Singh.
"We are delighted to honour Mr Mushtaq Chaya for his significant contributions to the hospitality industry in Jammu and Kashmir," said Pradeep Shetty, President, FHRAI. "His dedication and commitment have played an important role in promoting tourism and establishing Jammu and Kashmir as a prime destination for visitors. It is our privilege to recognise such outstanding efforts."
In his address, Shetty emphasised the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving growth in the tourism sector. He also announced the upcoming Hospitality Investors Summit in Jammu and Kashmir, which will provide a platform for leading brands and hospitality entrepreneurs to explore investable projects and learn about the government's investor-friendly policies. Additionally, he extended an invitation to all stakeholders to attend the 54th Annual Convention of FHRAI, where discussions on promoting tourism and fostering partnerships in the hospitality sector will continue.
The Stakeholders’ Meet brought together key industry players, including hoteliers, restaurateurs, investors and policymakers, to discuss the challenges and opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir's tourism landscape. The event highlighted the region's immense potential and underscored the need for concerted efforts to unlock it.
