Encompass executes launch of Gillette Venus Breeze at star studded affair at St Regis

Deepika Padukone the brand ambassador for Gillette Venus introduces the new razor for body shaving with a breeze in the beauty and cosmetic market of India. The Gillette franchise has conquered markets globally by providing and contributing to the men’s grooming for facial hair. As far as the contributions for female grooming for body hair is concerned, the Gillette company has been catering to that audience since 2001. Hence after years of revolutionizing the razor for women they have launched the most anticipated product of them all known as the Gillette Venus Breeze.

The talked about razor states that it is is a 2-in-1 product that has style and substance featuring water activated moisture gel bars that provide an ultra-sensorial, all-in-one shaving experience. Formulated with body butters (Olive, Avocado and kokum) and Glycerin, it helps retain skin moisture and is designed to follow contours of a female body to give a close shave. The process gives out fresh tropical fragrance (Freesia) since the gel bars are created with refreshing fruity top notes, blended with radiant floral accords of sheer roses, all supported by beautiful musky base note. Karthik Shrivatsan, Country marketing manager, Gillette India inaugurated the launch by revealing only a little about the product as he made space for the brand ambassador (Deepika Padukone), shaving advocates (Soha Ali Khan & Neha Dhupia) and celebrity dermatologist to discuss the insights of the new product for modern Indian women.

“Venus aims to provide women with a hair removal experience that beats what they expect from any product in the market. With the launch of Venus Breeze, our leading global product, Indian women can now get amazing smooth skin at home with the added benefit of having an ultra-sensorial experience.” Says Karthik Shrivatsan, Country Marketing Manager, Gillette India.

The discussion that was hosted by Mandira Bedi revealed a lot of features about the products with the panelists like: 2 in 1 razor plus gel bars designed to enhance the overall shaving experience for women by multiple folds. It has specially formulated skin conditioning ingredients for an ultra-sensorial experience every time you shave. Moisture gel bars that possess water activated glide gel bars provide an ultra-sensorial all-in-one shaving experience. Formulated with body butters (Olive, Avocado and kokum) and Glycerin to help retain skin moisture and follow contours to give a close shave. Fresh tropical fragrance (Freesia) to provide the essence of after shave. Rounded head with 3 blades and ergonomically shaped handles to add the perfect design to the product.

“Venus Breeze fits perfectly into my lifestyle and beauty regime.I have always believed in maintaining a firm skincare regime and am very particular about choosing the right beauty products and methods.” Says Deepika Padukone, Brand Ambassador, Gillette Venus.

Along with the disclosing features of the razor, myths regarding body shaving were also talked about and the best person to clear those doubts were the celebrity dermatologist Dr.Rashmi Shetty. Certain misconceptions regarding the safety for shaving body hair and damage to skin and removal of moisture were spoken about where the doctor explained that the razor has moisture gel bars to avoid any lack of moisture to the skin and the shape of the razor along with soft edges allows the consumer to use it in any direction on their body without the fear of hurting the skin. Another major myth that worries many women is the thought of gaining thicker hair once shaven, where again Rashmi explained the thickness of hair occurs from waxing instead of shaving it.

Giving her thoughts on the category, Dr. Rashmi Shetty, Celebrity Dermatologist and an Aesthetic Physician, commented, “There are so many myths associated with shaving but being a dermatologist, I can assure you that shaving is the most skin-friendly method of hair removal. It is extremely safe and hygienic as compared to other hair removal methods that have chemicals and can permanently damage your skin. As per a recent survey, it is the no.1 hair removal method for women endorsed by dermatologists across the country.”
