Wedniksha organizes extravagant 3-day wedding at Dubai's Palazzo Versace Hotel

A one of a kind celebration spread over three days was curated to perfection, from its conceptualization to its final execution in terms of décor, artistes, technicals, entertainment, hospitality and logistics among other finer details.

The celebration began on the 21st of November, with a high tea at Restaurant Mosaico, Hotel Palazzo Versace wherein the guests were welcomed at their host hotel in the traditional Indian manner with Dholwalas.

They were then authentically entertained by a duo of Tamarind & Kanun players. Guests were then transferred by luxury yachts to the destination of the Welcome Dinner across the water body, LakeView Restaurant at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. Dressed in the hues of green and amber, the welcome dinner reflected the vision of a green house, a perfect ambience for a Coke studio performance by an ensemble of Clinton Cerejo, Jonita Gandhi, Bianca Gomes and Ash King. The evening also saw a surprise waiter’s act and an illusionist that entertained one and all.

The morning of the 22nd November was dedicated to a relaxing pool party transporting the guests to Niki Beach sitting right at the Ischia Pool in the hotel itself. Everything white with a pop of orange did the magic of making this an arena of unlimited fun. Food carts, candy sticks and a swing bar added to “hip” elements of the afternoon with unlimited margaritas, sangrias and smoothies! The entertainment was conceptualized for all age groups to bring out the child in them , with life sized snook ball, mega jenga, giant twister and beer pong. Swan floats in the pool along with masseusses added to the relaxing ambience of the event. A war of the DJs between DJ Teri Miko & Shadow redefined raging, in the fun slang sense of the word. Shot serving girls made sure to get the guests’ spirits going high.

The most integral celebration for an Indian wedding, the sangeet, was what followed the same evening. The sangeet designed as an Arabic souk, from the décor to the entertainment, was an enchanting evening tucked in the desert land of Al-Maha Luxury Desert Resort & Spa. The décor of the evening entailed elements such such as arabic tents, a bar with tree comprising of moroccan lamps and flowers that acted as an oasis in the middle of a desert, almost surprisingly breathtaking. The walkway of the venue was created like a bazaar with a wide variety of artistes, like the handpan drummer, sand bottle artiste, calligraphy artiste along with photo booth opportunities like a falcon and camels. The entertainment for the night was conceptualized like a broadway show, with a bedouin artiste, as the narrator of a love tale with arabic acts and family performances interspersed within it. The enchanting arabic acts were a vast array of belly dancers, tannoura dancers, fire and pixel poi artistes along with dancers dressed like desert animals. The arena then transformed into one with lazers as the DJs took over.

The D- day on the 23rd of November was celebrated with pomp and splendour starting from the traditional ceremony of tel baan decorated in pastel hues. The baraat was preceeded by saafa tying ceremony which had artistes flown down especially from Udaipur to tie the saafa. The baraat saw the groom come in a fashionable manner in Porsche along with the traditional Dholwalas that jammed to the tunes that were being spun by DJ Shadow. The fun procession gave way to the jaimala and vidhi ceremony that was every bit traditional, right from the colours to the nature of decoration using red and gold. An amphitheatre was created for the pheras as guests witnessed the coming together of the couple along with a soothing ambience of chanting monks flown especially from Leh Ladakh.

The finale of the celebration was like no other, as guests made their way to the Capri Pool of the hotel for the reception. It was every bit technological and a true ode to the House of Versace decked in blue and silver with projection on the façade of the hotel. The evening had a magical European touch with beautiful floral chandeliers and centre pieces. The photobooth with magical wings was an attraction for all guests along with the walk around artistes- mirror man and gold cycle man. The evening was then witness to international acts like Elements of Universe, an aerial controtionist and water bubble acrobat. The splendid duo, Vishal & Shekhar, then took over the stage to make the guests groove to their tunes.

The celebration was not only bespoke in its entirety but also was a grand affair organized with an eye to detailing, leaving the guests in awe.
