Tourism Malaysia Onboards Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali As Director For New Delhi Office

With over 34 years of experience in tourism promotion and international relations, Ali has had a notable career at Tourism Malaysia, and has been dedicated to promoting Malaysia as a premier tourist destination, highlighting its unique wonders, attractions, and cultures

As per media reports, Tourism Malaysia has appointed Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali as the Director of its New Delhi office, effective 24 June, 2024. With over 34 years of experience in tourism promotion and international relations, Ali has had a notable career at Tourism Malaysia, an agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. He has been dedicated to promoting Malaysia as a premier tourist destination, highlighting its unique wonders, attractions, and cultures.

Throughout his tenure, Ali has received several prestigious awards for his exemplary service, including the Silver Medal Award from the Right Honourable Governor of Sarawak in September 2012, the Long Service Award from Tourism Malaysia in April 2011, and the Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (BKT) Award from the Right Honourable Governor of Melaka in October 2007.

In addition to his accolades, Ali has held several senior leadership positions within Tourism Malaysia. He assumed the role of Senior Deputy Director, Package Development Division in January 2021, where he supervised the Niche Tourism Product Team and led the Intelligent Unit to ensure positive industry development.

Prior to that, he was Senior Deputy Director, Human Resources Division (January 2019 - January 2021). His role included carefully planning human capital needs, succession plans, and staff movements, while implementing job rotations to establish leadership at all levels.

From July 2017 - January 2019, he held the position of Senior Deputy Director, International Promotion Division) wherein he demonstrated strategic leadership in promoting Malaysia to international markets.

Tourism Malaysia highlighted in a recent announcement that Ali's significant skills in public speaking, event management, marketing, and sales have been instrumental in his various leadership roles within the organisation.

Educationally, Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali holds a Master of Business Administration in Tourism Management from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), where he achieved an impressive CGPA of 4.0. He also has an Associate's Degree in Tourism Administration from UiTM.
