On the occasion of the 550th birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji, Founder Trustees of The India Harmony Foundation (IHF) organised the launch of "THE BLESSINGS SEEKER" a Coffee Table book on the Historical Gurudwaras of India by author Inder Raj Ahuliwalia. The photographs are by Malkiat Singh and the book produced by Sterling Publishers. The ceremony commenced with hymns sung by world renowned singer Minu Bakshi.
Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi (Union Minister for Minority Affairs) and Shri Hardeep Singh Puri (Union Minister I/C for Housing and Urban Affairs, Civil Aviation and Commerce and Industry) launched the book together with the Trustees of IHF, Shri Virendra Dayal, Padma Bhushan awardee, Ambassador Ashok Sajjanhar, Lt. Genera Ata Hasnain and Smt. Kulsoom Noor Saifullah, Managing Trustee IHF.
This event was attended by senior lawmakers, bureaucrats, educationists, media persons and eminent members of the Sikh community in India.
On the occasion Mrs Kulsoom Noor Saifullah, Managing Trustee of IHF said that she was overwhelmed by the response of the public to this initiative. She said "We are all blessing seekers and I hope that Guru Nanak's message of peace and harmony would reach every citizen of our country."
Lt. General Ata Hasnain spoke of the heroic contributions of the Sikhs and said "their bravery is an inspiration to all of us."
Ambassador Ashok Sajjanhar spoke of Guru Nanak Devji's travels across Central Asia. "the impact of his gentle message of brotherhood in medieval times reverberates throughout the region until today"
The principal objective of The India Harmony Foundation (IHF) is to create understanding of the cultural and social traditions of diverse communities living in India. It achieves this through providing a platform to small NGOs presenting India's common culture through theatre, poetry, dance, music shows, interactive talks, art shows, book launches, food festivals and a quarterly journal for parliamentarians. The India Harmony Foundation (IHF) also sponsors cross cultural harmony walks throughout the country.
The author Inder Raj Ahluwalia, is an internationally reputed journalist and travel writer of over 40 years standing. The title of the Book" The blessings seeker" describes the authors personal journey to all the historical gurdwaras in India. It talks about the miracles and sacrifices of the ten Gurus that led to the founding the Gurdwaras. It is essential spiritual reading for every blessing seeker.
