Telangana Contemplates Health Tourism Hub Initiative

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy mentioned that the proposed hub could be developed on a 1000-acre plot near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

As per media reports, the Telangana Government plans to establish a Health Tourism Hub in Hyderabad, as Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced. 

During the 24th anniversary celebration of Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute on 22 June, 2024, Reddy mentioned that the proposed hub could be developed on a 1000-acre plot near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

“It will be developed as a hub to cater to all medical and health needs of patients from India and abroad. Basavatarakam Hospital will also be an integral part of this hub,” the Chief Minister mentioned. 

Reddy lauded the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, originally conceptualised by TDP Founder and former Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, N T Rama Rao, in memory of his late wife Basavatarakam. Since its inception, the hospital has provided invaluable services to countless patients. 

Reddy assured the government would extend all possible support to the hospital to expand its services further. He also acknowledged the contributions of N Chandrababu Naidu to the hospital's development, “I got an opportunity to compete with Naidu in development and welfare.”
