Students of Lady Shriram College of Women present a hindi play, "Mrinal ki Chitthi"

To understand the meaning of “Independence" the students of LSR took a different perspective towards “the struggle of freedom”.

The struggle for freedom has different forms. Partition and the history also included the struggle by woman in household for freedom and their independence.

On the occasion of 73rd independence day of India, Lady Shriram College of Women, one of the prestigious college of Delhi University, students of Dramatic Society executed a play directed by Prakriti Dutta, assisted by Aishwarya and Mannat with casting of Amritanshi, Anamika, Gauri, Mohona, Parvati, Shatakshi, Shraddha, Sneha, Snigdha and Tavleen. They adapted Kabi Guru Rabindranath Tagore's play “Strir Patra in bengalee” (also Streer Patra; English: A Wife's Letter) is a 1972 Bengali play) ” Translated in hindi “Mrinal ki Chitthi”. For Mrinal Bindu's death had brought grief but with it, the decision to free herself from this relationship of being part of her husband’s household and gave her the courage to instead walk on a path of liberating herself and to explore her identity.
