Spring Magic: Tulips Galore In Srinagar's Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden

As per media reports, Asia's largest tulip garden in Srinagar, nestled between the Dal Lake and the Zabarwan Hills, is currently ablaze with the vibrant hues of tulips in full bloom. Formerly known as Siraj Bagh, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden boasts an impressive collection of 1.7 million tulips of diverse varieties.

To ensure a prolonged display, the tulip bulbs are strategically planted in phases. Anticipating a spectacular sight, officials from the department expressed that the garden will soon be transformed into a kaleidoscope of colours when the flowers reach full bloom.

This year, the garden welcomes five new varieties of tulips, boosting the existing 68 types, with an additional 200,000 bulbs contributing to the expanded area.

Spanning over 55 hectares, the garden sets a record with its vast expanse and abundance of tulip bulbs. Visitors can also delight in the presence of other spring blossoms such as hyacinths, daffodils, muscari, and cyclamens, enhancing the diversity and palette of colours within the garden.
