The International powerboat governing body, the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), which is recognized by the International Olympic Committee, has joined hands with Procam International to launch an international powerboat race in India known as P1, where several countries will compete in a Grand Prix style race on Mumbai's shores.

Nexa P1 Power Boat - Indian Grand Prix of the Seas' will be held in the evening of 2nd February 2017 in Mumbai against the backdrop of The Gateway of India. The event will see the unveiling of the logo and boat. Some of the expected dignitaries at the event include- Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis; Mr. JayKumar Rawal, Tourism Minister of Maharashtra; Anil Singh, Managing Director, Procam International; Asif Rangoonwala, Chairman, Powerboat P1 and more.
The initiative supported by Maharashtra Government is slated from March 4 to March 5, 2017. Attendees would be able to view the event free of cost from Mumbai's Marine Drive promenade. The state tourism department sees the event as a unique opportunity to showcase its vast waterfront to the world and attract tourism.
