The highly anticipated Euronics Corporate Cricket League (ECCL) Season 2 culminated in Delhi-NCR, successfully. Competing against Design Forum International in the finale, Gian P Mathur and Associates (GPM Architects) won by eight wickets and bagged the Delhi-NCR championship title of the league.
Established in 2002, Euronics has carved a niche as the leading brand in the public washroom automation accessories segment, boasting of a significant presence across various sectors such as IT, hospitality, commercial buildings, airports, industries, and retail spaces. In 2022, the brand commenced its ‘Euronics Corporate Cricket League’, with a vision to promote physical fitness and camaraderie amongst corporate employees. After kicking off its Season 1 with only five teams, ECCL has swiftly evolved into India’s largest and most sought-after Corporate Cricket extravaganza today. Starting in February 2024, ECCL’s Season 2 has expanded its footprint to Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Lucknow, and Delhi-NCR, showcasing its popularity and appeal.
The Delhi-NCR leg of ECCL Season 2 witnessed fierce competition among 48 corporate giants, including NBCC, CPWD, PVR INOX, Shapoorji Pallonji, CBRE, JLL, Savills, Blue Star, Godrej Properties, and Bharti Realty. The tournament featured a total of 24 league matches, 12 pre-qualifiers, six quarter-finals, and three semi-finals, followed by a final showdown.
After the nail-biting semi-finals, GPM Architects, with a net run rate of 6.935, became the first team to enter into the final. To claim the spot against GPM Architects in the finale, Design Forum International and AECOM competed in an intense eliminator match, where Design Forum International won by nine wickets owing to Akshay Pandey’s three wickets and 51 runs off 19 balls. It went on to square off against GPM Architects in the thrilling tournament finale. With Design Forum International at the crease first, GPM Architects displayed their bowling prowess, limiting them to an average score of 65/6 in eight overs, and setting the stage for an easy victory. GPM Architects demonstrated an attacking cricket, and chased the score only in 4.3 overs with eight wickets remaining. With Shivam Tiwari’s 39 runs off 13 balls in the finale, GPM Architects clinched the championship title, displaying teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
GPM Architects was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 along with the championship trophy, while the runner-up Design Forum International received a cash prize of Rs. 25,000. The matches were held for two days at the Wisteria Sports Club in Baliawas, Gurugram, amidst 3000+ spectators.

As ECCL continues to garner widespread acclaim and admiration, Euronics is poised to expand its ongoing Season 2 to Mumbai and Ahmedabad as well. The washroom automation accessories giant also plans to organise a grand finale titled ‘Super ECCL’, wherein the respective champions of Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Lucknow, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad will compete for the ultimate championship title.
