During his visit to Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh on 10 March, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 15 airport projects.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia disclosed that the projects, valued at over Rs 42,000 crore, included the inauguration of 12 new terminal buildings. This comprehensive initiative encompassed virtual inaugurations and foundation stone laying for airports across the country, with a combined investment surpassing Rs 9,800 crore.
The new airport projects/terminal buildings were launched at Delhi Airport, Pune Airport, Kolhapur Airport, Gwalior Airport, Jabalpur Airport, Lucknow Airport, Aligarh Airport, Azamgarh Airport, Chitrakoot Airport, Moradabad Airport, Shravasti Airport, Adampur Airport
The foundation stone laying of new terminal buildings took place at Kadapa Airport, Hubballi Airport and Belagavi Airport.
On 10 March, the Prime Minister participated in a public event to lay the foundation stone for diverse development projects surpassing Rs 42,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh. Following that, he virtually distributed the inaugural installment under the Mahatari Vandana Yojana in Chhattisgarh.
