Hyderabad's Nightlife And Business Set For Upward Surge
As per media reports, Hyderabad's nightlife and business landscape are set for a revitalisation as the Telangana government endeavours to boost the night economy.
This initiative permits commercial establishments and eateries to operate round the clock, with a particular emphasis on specific areas like HiTec City and business hubs. Notably, bars and pubs will not be granted permits for extended operating hours beyond the current regulations.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to formulate a comprehensive plan for fostering the night economy, including improvements in transportation facilities.
Surge in job openings expected
The forthcoming initiative, aimed at elevating the nocturnal scene and business activities, anticipates not just an upswing in government revenues but also an enhancement of employment prospects in Hyderabad.
Additionally, it is poised to promote tourism in iconic locations such as Charminar and Golconda.
Nevertheless, the police department remains somewhat hesitant about endorsing the plan, voicing apprehensions regarding potential escalations in law and order issues, crime rates, and anti-social behaviour.
Nightlife and business in Hyderabad get a green light for 24/7 operations
In the preceding year, the Telangana government decided to permit round-the-clock operations for shops and establishments across the state. Despite the anticipation of a substantial enhancement in Hyderabad's nightlife and business activities, only a limited number of management expressed interest.
Telangana joins the ranks of states like Maharashtra, which implemented a similar relaxation in 2017, and Karnataka, which granted this flexibility for three years starting January 2021. Tamil Nadu also embraced this flexibility in 2019, extending it for an additional three years in June 2022.
The actual impact of the new plan on propelling nightlife and business in Hyderabad, thereby boosting the night economy, remains to be observed.
