Amazon Smbhav took place on the 15th & 16th January at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. The event was produced, designed and executed by Vibgyor. A mega event like Amazon Smbhav can be the most challenging, exciting & fulfilling to execute for any event agency.
The event was a landmark on many fronts – from the business owners participating in it to the kind of infrastructure needed to be created and the kind of VIPs expected – Jeff Bezos, NR Narayana Murthy, Kishore Biyani and many more. Everything about this event was larger than life.
Team Vibgyor was given the mandate of this event post a multi-agency pitch about 5 months ago and about a 30 member exclusive team had been working on it non stop ever since. The number of Vibgyorians involved in the past 10 days went up to over 125 with our Mumbai and Bangalore teams also pitching in and the overall event crew on site was of about 300 professionals managing every minute aspect of this mammoth event.
Team Vibgyor was responsible for all big and small aspects of this event right from designing, venue selection, ticketing, infrastructure, creatives, exhibition, security to the minutest of housekeeping work being done at both the venues. The stakes were huge since the entire leadership team of Amazon was to be present in addition to its founder and Global CEO-Jeff Bezos.

Both the weightlifting auditorium as well as the open warm-up area of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium including all parking spaces were taken up for this event. In terms of infrastructure, an auditorium from scratch had to be made- right from painting the walls, restoring restrooms to cleaning glass partitions. The venue was taken over a week in advance for preparations and even that was less because the work that was carried out 24X7 was in one of the harshest winters the capital had seen in the last many decades. Right from deploying offices to kitchens, work cubicles to bedding pagodas, portable toilets, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium was home for the entire Vibgyor team working in multiple shifts for about 10 days. While the stadium authorities had been extremely co-operative, the amount of work required to turn a government auditorium into a 5-star facility including redoing the paint, overhauling the toilets, horticulture, re-laying the entire carpeting at the auditorium, cleaning every glass panel using man-lifts, and even relocating the birds inside the auditorium was a true learning experience for the team.
In terms of infrastructure, two domes of 20 meters each were created with planetarium like night sky effect inside where the learning sessions were held. These sessions were called: Educate 1 & Educate 2. The main 40-meter dome was a delight to work on – with a fully transparent covering and a mezzanine ‘nest’ created over the conference rooms. Many kilometers of masking and branding was done using eco-friendly materials and deployed over 2 dozen e-rickshaws to ferry passengers between the two event venues. Despite the cold wave, multiple rain showers and many other unforeseen circumstances team Vibgyor’s spirits did not get dampened and they were happy to have pulled off an event that will be remembered as a landmark.
Finally, the slogan 'Soch liya to Sambhav hai' goes aptly for the mammoth event which was successfully executed!
