Art belongs to no one man. It flows freely, expressing itself; defying all boundaries and containments, manifesting varied imaginations. In today’s world that reveres practical applications, mechanisation and engineering, art stands strong for its innate virtue of calming the soul and clutching on places in time and space where only the mind can reach – the infinity. Delhi Collage of Art, being one of the pioneers in the realm of Fine Arts recognises how art can provide wings to its students and has once again organised a week long "Outdoor Sketching Session 2019" under the guidance of Fine Art Guru Ashwani Kumar Prithviwasi. By these classes students are able to capture 360 degree camera view of the landscape. This concept helps the students to learn live sketches, freehand drawing, perspective and important key-points, with the use of water colors, crayons, or other mediums at Handicraft Museum starting from November 24th to December 1st, 2019.
A creative mind, no matter how much it may throb with ideas and thoughts; drawing fluid patterns with vibrancy of a thousand palettes in its elusiveness birthing masterpieces, yet it needs to breathe and quench its soul with more fertility. For everything that is created in the universe, another thing ruptures and requires replenishment. This intrinsic aspect of nature has been addressed pertinently by Delhi Collage of Art, as they bring their students out of the confinement of their regular classes into an arena with boundless opportunities and diversified landscapes. The sites chosen for these Outdoor Sketching Sessions were classic destinations like the Safdarjung Tomb, India Gate, Handicraft and Art Museum including NGMA. For every single object that intrigues a student, perceptions and views are infinite making it an endless journey for them as artists.
Under the supreme guidance of Fine Art Guru Mr. Ashwani Kumar Prithviwasi, this venture has always been a fulfilling one and is expected to be so in the forthcoming one as well. The "Outdoor Sketching Session 2019" is aimed at stimulating the minds of young artists, instilling the five senses in order to help them enhance their observational skills and it also of targets at freehand and perspective drawing. There are no restrictions; a student can go all flamboyant in their choice of colours and use of medium or they can stick to canvas and charcoal. It is their freewill, their mind is their easel and their perspective is their medium.
Dotted with lectures and workshops by eminent professors and legends in their own right, while the Outdoor Sketching Session 2019 is a launch pad for a young artist’s imagination, it is also the Mecca for learning about new techniques, perceptions and viewpoints, creative nuances and about adding of intellectual depth to pieces of art. In a nutshell, the week-long programme is a way to revitalize the mind and soul and nurture it to produce a prolific generation of evangelists whose work will speak speak visions of their own minds.
