'Because She Can' Empowering Women Bags Three Anthem Awards

At the 2024 Anthem Awards, 'Because She Can' attained Gold in Community Outreach and Silver in Community Event within the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion category, as well as The Anthem Community Voice Award. Led by social entrepreneur, Divya Jain and YFLO Delhi committee members, this non-profit initiative earned acclaim for its influential podcast and skilling endeavours hosted by Jain, Neha Joshi and Stuti Gupta. Among 2000 submissions from 44 nations, the podcast distinguished itself, clinching both Gold and Silver honours at the ceremony.

Jain says, "Because She Can is a movement to empower women; it serves as their platform to voice their unheard stories, enabling them to acquire skills and become the best versions of themselves for living their dream life. I am truly honoured to share the global stage alongside the most powerful changemakers. All of this has been possible only because of the wonderful women and people who resonated and came forward to contribute, driving the vision forward.”

“The podcast connects and brings together some of the most influential women in the country to discuss important issues. Our talk with Twinkle Khanna and the discussion on breaking stereotypes with Kalki, among many others, was a truly great experience”, states Gupta.

Introduced by The Webby Awards in 2021, the Anthem Awards honour global social impact initiatives. Recently, the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences unveiled the Anthem 2024 recipients in New York. Among them are celebrated figures such as Taylor Swift, Matt Damon, Elton John, Jesper Brodin, Kevin Bacon, Jay Shetty as well as organizations like PepsiCo, UNICEF and others.

“The "Because She Can" podcast serves as an inspiring platform, shedding light on countless untold stories. Shooting an episode within the walls of Tihar Jail provided a voice to overlooked women inmates. Through these conversations, many of these women found inspiration to move forward in life”, comments Jain.

As a nonprofit movement, 'Because She Can' advocates for women-led development through storytelling, dialogue and skills-building initiatives. Despite being launched just nine months ago, Because She Can has swiftly gained recognition, particularly with its podcast, which has reached over 28 states and 7935 cities engaging 377 million individuals in India and over 15 countries worldwide. The podcast has amassed over 450,000 views, exceeding 5 million impressions and garnered a cumulative following of over 10,000. Guests featured on the podcast include Dr. Madhu Chopra, Dr. Shelly Oberoi, Ira Singhal India’s Wonder Girl Jahanvi Panwar, Captain Zoya and many others.
