Anchor Anurima Mitra hosted Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the dedication ceremony of Aiims Kalyani to the nation.
Prime Minister Modi virtually inaugurated the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Kalyani, from AIIMS, Rajkot, Gujarat. Additionally, he dedicated four more Aiims facilities located in Rajkot (Gujarat), Bathinda (Punjab), Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh) and Mangalagiri (Andhra Pradesh) to the nation.
The formal inauguration of Aiims Kalyani, with an estimated project cost of INR 1,754 crore, marked the opening of its indoor facility to the public. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Governor C V Ananda Bose, Union ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Subhas Sarkar and Professor Chitra Sarkar, President, Aiims Kalyani.
The institute has already inducted around 500 MBBS and 200 nursing students, initiating PG and para-medical training programs. Aiims Kalyani, with 43 departments and 17 super specialities, serves over 2,000 patients daily, supported by a dedicated workforce.
The institute is set for expansion, planning to increase its in-patient beds from 360 to 960 shortly and launching an Ayush IPD with 30 beds.
